Job Description

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA 2) opportunity is available to provide dedicated, one-on-one care to a student with medical needs in an elementary school setting in Gastonia, NC, for the 202526 school year. This full-time, contract position runs Monday through Friday during the school year, starting in August 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver personalized 1:1 support to a student with complex medical requirements throughout the school day
• Monitor and accurately document oxygen levels to ensure the students safety
• Perform tube feedings as outlined in the students individualized care plan
• Work closely with the on-site school nurse, who will administer oxygen therapy when necessary
• Foster a calm and supportive environment to help the student feel secure and engaged

Qualifications:

• Active CNA-2 certification is mandatory
• Experience with tube feeding and oxygen monitoring highly preferred
• Previous school-based healthcare experience is advantageous but not required
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with educational staff
• Comfortable working within a classroom environment alongside teachers and support staff
