Are you ready to take the lead on some of the most complex and fast-paced construction projects in the industry?

Our Client, a Top ENR GC is seeking a driven Mission Critical Project Manager to join their team in Iowa. This role offers the opportunity to oversee high-profile, MEP-intensive projects, supporting major technology and telecommunications clients across the U.S.

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring project success by balancing technical execution, financial management, and relationship-building, all while advancing your career within the thriving mission-critical construction industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead overall project planning, management, and execution for assigned mission-critical/data center projects.
  • Prepare detailed project estimates, budgets, unit cost reports, and schedules.
  • Develop and implement the Project Management Plan (PMP) alongside the project team.
  • Manage full project lifecycle including contract administration, subcontracts, purchase orders, and vendor management.
  • Oversee procurement of project materials and equipment within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Facilitate pre-construction meetings and coordinate permitting and regulatory requirements.
  • Direct risk management, quality control, and project safety initiatives.
  • Regularly monitor site performance for cost, quality, safety, and scheduling goals with the field superintendent.
  • Administer all financial aspects including pay requisitions, lien waivers, owner change orders, and monthly job cost reviews.
  • Negotiate with owners, vendors, and subcontractors to maximize project profitability.
  • Lead project closeout activities, ensuring delivery of as-built drawings, warranties, and owner training.
  • Represent the company with owners, architects, consultants, and community stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support team members while promoting company policies and a culture of excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of project management experience in commercial or MEP-heavy, mission-critical, or data center construction.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering profitable, high-quality projects while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.
  • Deep understanding of construction processes, estimating, building codes, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Strong financial and contractual knowledge, with experience negotiating contracts and processing change orders.
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills; ability to lead project meetings and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
  • Comfortable managing multiple competing priorities and adapting to change.
  • Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PE, LEED AP) and/or Spanish language proficiency are a plus.
