We are currently partnering with a mission-driven energy services firm based in the Washington, DC metro area that is making a significant impact in the sustainability and infrastructure space. This company specializes in developing and executing high-performance energy efficiency and infrastructure improvement projects, primarily for government and institutional clients.

With a highly capable in-house team that spans engineering, project development, and construction management, this firm offers a unique and integrated approach to project delivery. Job Description

  • Serve as the primary safety point of contact for the project site, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Implement and manage the project's Site-Specific Safety and Health Plan (SSHP), including updates and amendments as necessary.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits; maintain logs and reports as required.
  • Lead daily safety briefings, weekly toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Report and investigate incidents, near-misses, and injuries promptly.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and government stakeholders to ensure safety measures are upheld across all teams.
  • Maintain proper documentation, including Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), safety meeting records, and safety certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1 and other applicable safety standards, especially on DoD or federally funded projects.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience , with at least 3 years on federal contracts or military installations preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training certification is required.
  • EM 385-1-1 training and familiarity with its implementation on site.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated experience managing site safety on complex, active construction or energy retrofit projects.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Prior experience working on Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC) or energy-related projects is a plus.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass applicable background checks (including for federal sites).
