Job Description:

Jungle Reef Public Aquarium is seeking enthusiastic and talented individuals to join our team as Live Mermaid Performers. As a Live Mermaid Performer, you will play a crucial role in creating a magical and memorable experience for our visitors, especially children. This position requires a combination of strong swimming skills, a friendly and approachable demeanor, and the ability to perform in front of diverse audiences.

Responsibilities:

1. Mermaid Performance:

• Engage with visitors in a friendly and entertaining manner while portraying the role of a mermaid.
• Conduct underwater performances in our specially designed mermaid tank, interacting with various marine life.
• Be comfortable and confident in swimming with reef sharks during scheduled performances.

1. Interaction with Visitors:

• Create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests of all ages.
• Be approachable and willing to answer questions about marine life and mermaid performances.
• Interact with children and families, posing for photos and creating memorable experiences.

1. Reliability and Punctuality:

• Attend scheduled gigs and shifts on time, consistently maintaining a reliable presence.
• Demonstrate commitment to the position by adhering to the assigned schedule.

1. Professionalism:

• Act with professionalism both in and out of the mermaid costume.
• Follow all guidelines and policies set by Jungle Reef Public Aquarium.

Requirements:

1. Swimming Skills:

• Must be a strong swimmer with the ability to perform comfortably in a mermaid tail.

1. Performance Skills:

• Comfortable acting and performing in front of large audiences.
• Ability to maintain a positive and energetic attitude during performances.

1. Interaction Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal skills, especially with children.
• Ability to engage with diverse groups of visitors.

1. Physical Fitness:

• Must be in good physical condition to handle the demands of underwater performances.

1. Reliability:

• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in previous work experiences.

Compensation:

Competitive Gig rate based on experience.
