Amentum is seeking a Locksmith at Creech AFB to install, repair, rebuild, and service mechanical or electrical locking devices. Essential responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, and certifying GSA containers and vaults; inspecting and repairing high security locks such as LKM7000, KABA Mas X-09/X-10; disassembling locks such as padlocks, safe locks, and door locks to repair or replace worn tumblers, springs, and other parts; inserting new or repaired tumblers into locks to change combinations; cutting new or duplicate keys; moving lock-picks in cylinders to open door locks without keys; opening safe locks by drilling; keeping records of locks and keys; completing projects from initial layout to final assembly or installation including basic structural framework; repairing door screens; replacing or repairing window locks and operators; and performing all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Minimum qualifications include possession of GSA Certified Safe and Vault Technician and Inspector Certification, a high school diploma or GED with three or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in the locksmith field, a valid state driver license, and qualification to operate government general-purpose vehicles. The candidate must have the ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups; perform basic math operations; solve practical problems; interpret various instructions; and maintain a Master Locksmith-State required license. The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, high places, fumes, toxic chemicals, outside weather, extreme temperatures, electrical shock risk, and moderate noise levels. Physical demands include walking, using hands and fingers, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, climbing ladders/scaffolding, standing, bending, working in cramped areas, and lifting tools and equipment occasionally over 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
