Preferred/Desirable Qualifications: Experience in a municipal or government setting. Previous supervisory experience. Primary responsibilities include: Supervises staff engaged in the maintenance and landscaping of the City's community parks and Sports Complex. Conducts technical maintenance work, such as ball field preparation and renovations. Oversees irrigation system testing and maintenance. Acts as the onsite lead turf grass management technical representative for application, recording, and storage of required fertilizers and pesticides. Completes administrative tasks, attends meetings, manages weekly reports, conducts onsite safety inspections, and monitors supplies and inventory. Tell me more..... The purpose of this position is to provide site leadership in a fast-paced environment at one of the three community parks and/or the Peoria Sports Complex, home to the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres. Areas of responsibility include staff development and training including safety, sports turf management, ball field maintenance, chemical/fertilizer applications and overseeing all park related assets. The ideal candidate for this position will be: Experienced with personnel supervision including timekeeping, approving requests for time off, etc. Comfortable directing personnel in what's needed to meet the needs of an activity, event or program with minimal direction. Comfortable communicating with patrons, volunteers, vendors, concessionaires, public safety and team personnel as required.
