Job Summary: The Hospitalist is expected to provide clinical care for patients admitted at our affiliated hospitals and support surgical and specialty services through consultative general internal medicine practice.

Schedule Opportunities: Monday-Friday and every 3rd weekend, Block 7 on 7 off, 22 shifts a month.

Primary Functions:

1. Assess, evaluate, and manage patients in the acute facility, including histories, physicals, and examinations.
2. Diagnose and manage patient conditions, including evaluation and treatment.
3. Attend multi-disciplinary rounds.
4. Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic studies and labs.
5. Perform procedures like suturing, wound care, incision and drainage, and splinting.
6. Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies.
7. Consult with other physicians as needed.
8. Refer patients to appropriate care sources.
9. Utilize resources efficiently and support clinical pathways.
10. Refer patients to tertiary care when indicated, in consultation with primary care physicians.

Education, Training, Experience:

• MD or DO degree.
• Completed residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Board Certified or Eligible (IM or FP).
• Active FL medical license.
• DEA license eligible/active.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Effective communication skills.
• Initiative, creativity, problem-solving.
• Ability to collaborate and work under pressure.
• Computer literacy.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with EPIC EMR system.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Relationship Reporting:

• Reports to the Chief Medical Officer / Executive Director.

Physical Requirements:

• Effective communication with patients and staff.
• Ability to sit, stand, or view a screen for extended periods.
• Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.
• Use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
• Reach with hands and arms.
