Candidates must be comfortable operating in live environments with minimal disruption to airport operations and capable of leading fast-track, high-visibility projects from conception through closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or support project phases from planning and RFP development to design review, permitting, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with multiple airport stakeholders, including airport operations, security, concessions, tenant airlines, maintenance teams, and executive leadership.
  • Oversee project documentation and compliance with FAA, CEQA/NEPA, ADA, and airport authority standards.
  • Evaluate contractor performance and oversee field coordination for submittals, RFIs, pay apps, change orders, and milestone progress tracking.
  • Support or lead design team coordination, stakeholder engagement, mockup approvals, testing, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Provide direction on quality assurance, risk management, and environmental health and safety protocols.
  • Identify and proactively address design, constructability, and phasing challenges in occupied terminals or critical support areas.
  • Prepare and present project updates, KPIs, and risk reports to senior management, governing boards, or public agency representatives.

Basic Qualifications (All Levels):

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Aviation, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years (Junior PM), 5 years (Mid-level PM), or 10+ years (Senior PM) of project management experience in construction or capital programs, with at least some experience in operational facilities.
  • Understanding of design/construction delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, CMAR, and Design-Build.
  • Familiarity with aviation agency requirements, public bidding, and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam; experience with PMIS platforms (Unifier, eBuilder, Prolog, or similar).
  • Strong interpersonal skills withthe ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in complex environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working on airport modernization or terminal improvement projects (e.g., refresh of finishes, MEP systems upgrades, signage/wayfinding, concessions, or digital interface improvements).
  • Knowledge of airport stakeholder engagement, phasing, and safety management within TSA-secured or airside zones.
  • Experience navigating agency approval processes with FAA, NEPA, CEQA, local airport authorities, or city departments.

Certifications such as PMP, CCM, PE, AAAE, or LEED are strongly preferred.

Additional Requirements:
