Job Description

Prospect Research Analyst

Mount Holyoke College seeks a Prospect Research Analyst to join our College Relations team. As a Prospect Research Analyst, you'll be instrumental in shaping the College Relations team's success by identifying, researching, and analyzing potential individual sources of financial support. Reporting to the Associate Director of Prospect Research and Management, you'll provide the essential groundwork that empowers our fundraising initiatives.

This is a predominantly remote role with minimal on-campus engagement required, with candidates needing to live within driving distance to campus. This hybrid work style offers flexibility while allowing you to contribute significantly to our fundraising efforts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform focused prospect research, both ad hoc and project-based, evaluating the financial capabilities of new prospects and existing donors.
  • Present clear and concise research analysis to fundraisers, verbally and in writing, to inform their engagement strategies.
  • Prepare comprehensive briefings and profiles for Presidential, VP, and other fundraiser-led meetings and events.
  • Work with the Associate Director to determine strategies for identifying new prospects through various screening techniques.
  • Accurately maintain and report on prospect data within our CRM, ensuring timely updates to employment and biographical information.
  • Keep current on alumni news, philanthropic trends, and Mount Holyoke College's priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director to assess available research tools and vendors.
  • Oversee student workers, providing guidance and support.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree and at least three years of dedicated prospect research experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with key prospect research tools such as iWave, LexisNexis, and LiveAlumni.
  • Proven ability to develop robust wealth capacity ratings.
  • Experience working with relational databases (Salesforce platforms preferred but not required) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities with a high degree of independence, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects under pressure.
  • Flexibility, resourcefulness, thoroughness, accuracy, and detail-orientation, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collegially and collaboratively within a team.
  • A strong ability to handle highly confidential material with discretion.

Hiring Range: $31.26 - $35.17

What We Offer:

  • 403(b) Retirement Plan (College contributes 10.5% of salary)
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Disability and Leave Benefits
  • Life Insurance (College paid coverage 1x salary)
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Tuition Benefits (to Mount Holyoke College or others)
  • Generous Paid Time Off
  • Access to Kendall Sports & Dance Complex

Background Checks: Mount Holyoke College is committed to providing a safe and secure environment, supported by qualified employees that will allow all of its students, faculty, staff and those associated with them to successfully carry out the mission of the college. As a condition of employment, the College will conduct appropriate background checks for all new hires.

Special Instructions for Applicants: Apply online; application materials must include:

  • A cover letter summarizing interests and qualifications
  • A complete resume or curriculum vitae
  • For faculty positions, statements on mentoring, teaching, and research will also be required.
