Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description NBCUniversal's KXAS is seeking a highly motivated and driven News Reporter to join its team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In this role, you will gather, investigate, and report breaking news, delivering compelling content across multiple platforms, including on-air, online, and streaming.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for investigative journalism and experience covering law enforcement, with a proven ability to build strong sources within the community. We're looking for someone who thrives in a breaking news environment, excels under tight deadlines, and consistently pitches unique and impactful enterprise stories.

Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of television reporting experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Proven track record of live reporting and strong storytelling skillset
- Proven experience working on investigative stories
- Experience building deep sources in community
- The ability to collaborate across broader newsroom
- Excellent writing skillset
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Experience contributing to non-linear platforms
- Must be able to handle intense deadline pressure
- Must be able to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, particularly breaking news
Desired Characteristics - Bilingual in English & Spanish reading, speaking, and writing
- General assignment reporting skills preferred
- Ability to enterprise stories
- Experience with digital editing and photography a plus
- Experience working simultaneously on web products
- Strong knowledge of social networking in relygard to content gathering and distribution
Eligibility Requirements - Must be willing to work in Fort Worth, TX, just south of DFW airport
- Must submit a video/reel/demo of work to be considered
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be 18 years or greater
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be able to work long hours and a variety of shifts, when necessary
- Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal's Alternative Dispute Resolution program
