Compassionate Part-Time Substance Abuse Counselor Needed! Position Overview The Substance Abuse Counselor will assist patients through medically assisted programs and offer techniques for handling opioid use disorder. The counselor conducts group and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, the counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during therapy and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and therapists to ensure the best overall outcome. Responsibilities Assist patients through medically assisted treatments and techniques for handling opioid addiction. Conduct individual and group sessions for crisis management and coping strategies. Evaluate patients’ progress and collaborate with healthcare professionals to achieve treatment goals. Provide counseling services, coordinate treatment, and act as a liaison with the entire program. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree with at least 2 years of counseling experience or a Master's Degree in Behavioral Science. Ability to obtain AAP credentials within 180 days of employment. Experience working with chemically dependent individuals. Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients. Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.
